Maryam Negm, Hannah Cotton and Tiffany Loera are interning with the human rights charity.

Three students who took the Minorities and Indigenous Peoples in International Law module taught by The City Law School’s Dr Mauro Barelli, have recently received internship opportunities with Incomindios UK.
The charity advocates for the rights of Indigenous peoples worldwide, with a particular focus on North, Central and South America. Through the promotion of Indigenous voices, the education of the British populace and its support of Indigenous leaders, Incomindios UK aims to improve the lives of Indigenous Peoples everywhere.
Maryam Negm, pursuing a MA in International Politics and Human Rights, and Hannah Cotton, reading for an LLM in Litigation and Dispute Resolution, are interning as Head of Project Management and Human Rights Education Network Project Manager respectively, while Tiffany Loera, studying for the LLM in Human Rights Law, is interning as a Research and Communications Manager.
A guest lecture delivered by Dr Alicia Kroemer on her work with indigenous peoples at Incomindios UK inspired Maryam, Hannah and Tiffany to contact Dr Kroemer and subsequently accept internships with the charity.
Maryam is delighted to have received an internship at Incomindios UK. She is experienced in project management and the banking sector, having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the American University in Cairo. During her first term at City, Maryam took a variety of modules, including Dr Barelli’s, in order to have a more well-rounded education. In her role at the charity, she oversees the implementation of various projects including the Incomindios-Lippuner Scholarship, UNPFII, IHREN, grants and fundraising, and other internal projects.
Hannah moved to London from Canada in September 2021 to pursue a Master’s in Law in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Her background in Human Resources inspired her to seek a career in dispute resolution and her studies in Political Science inspired her to engage in Indigenous relations.
Incomindios UK presented the unique opportunity to combine these interests. Now, as the Incomindious Human Rights Education Network Project Manager, she educates secondary school students about Indigenous relations in Canada.
Tiffany moved from the USA to the UK in 2019 to pursue a higher education in the field of anthropology. She completed her MSc in Biosocial Medical Anthropology from University College London (UCL) in 2020 and holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Anthropology with a minor in Community Health Sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno. An interest in understanding the legal application of human rights in health led Tiffany to study for her LLM at City Law School.
She is currently on track to complete her degree in January 2023. As the Research and Communications Manager at Incomindios UK, Tiffany supports the logistics and promotion of Incomindios projects including the Incomindios-Lippuner Scholarship and the 21st Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. In this capacity, she also sources Indigenous news and is currently drafting an article on the impacts of mining on Indigenous Populations in Greenland.
