City is a diverse and multicultural community, and we encourage you to apply to join us. We welcome students from more than 150 countries across the globe and around a third of our staff are from within the European Union (EU).
Our award-winning student services team is always on hand to provide assistance and support and we very much hope to welcome you to City.
Changes from 2021
Any students arriving to the UK after 31st December 2020 will have to apply for a visa to study in the UK. The Government has introduced the new immigration system, which includes the newly announced Graduate Immigration Route.
EU, other EEA and Swiss nationals will no longer be eligible for home fee status, undergraduate, postgraduate and advanced learner financial support unless they hold pre-settled or settled status.
Details of the student visa process can be found here.
EU Settlement Scheme
he UK Government is committed to protect the rights of EU citizens and their family members currently living in the UK, including citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. This includes the right to live here, to study, work and access public services such as healthcare.
To retain these rights after the UK's exit from the EU, all current students and their family members had to apply for EU Settlement Scheme.
The deadline for applying was 30th June 2021, if you took residency in the UK before the 31st December 2020.
Under extenuating circumstances, late applications are being accepted by the Home Office. If this is your case, you can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme through the Government's website, which also carries full details of eligibility and required documents. It is the Home Office’s decision to accept your application or not.
